We had planned to spend a little time exploring Portsmouth and Brighton, two storied coastal town on England's southern shore. Unfortunately we arrived in Portsmouth rather late on one day, pressed on to Brighton, looked around Brighton the next day and then pressed on towards London.
Portsmouth is a gorgeous town and perhaps one day I will return there and see Admiral Nelson's ship, the Victory.
Neil Gaiman, a favorite author, spent some time in his youth in Portsmouth. He was honored last year when Portsmouth named a street The Ocean At The End Of The Lane after his brilliant book with the same title.
Talking telescopes are apparently well regarded in these towns.
This is Brighton after dark.
