Laundry. And Cardiff.

There comes a point in any extended journey where you start to question the baggage you're carrying around with you. Specifically, you discover that you have less and less clean clothing in your baggage and realize that something simply has to be done to create more.

What better way to spend such a day than to do a load of wash in a Hereford launderette? Complete with closed circuit TV monitoring and newspapers debating the pressing badger issue?

Laundry done, we spent some time wandering the backroads of Wales and eventually made our way to Cardiff. But what to do in Cardiff. Is there anything noteworthy and perhaps geeky to see there?

Torchwood fans might enjoy seeing the Millenium Centre, an entrance to the Torchwood facility.

A neat statue to Ivor Novello.

A carousel. And a very well defended carousel at that!

The Pierhead building is very striking. Its logo "Wrth DDwr A Than" translates to "by fire and water".

The national assembly.

An Antarctic expedition monument.

And the Doctor Who Experience. Unfortunately, both 1) expensive and 2) closing by this time. No giant lego Dalek for us!

Adieu, Cardiff...
